In your role, you will:
–
Generate aerodynamic solutions using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software in support of Loads & Dynamics, Flight Sciences, Thermodynamics, and Systems requirements. Your role will also include the liaison of activities with these engineering groups.

Produce estimates of external pressure distributions, aerodynamic loads and stability derivatives for specific Bombardier products and validate these results with experimental data
–
Predict complete aircraft drag & drag breakdown, buffet boundary and clean wing CLmax
–
Develop aerodynamic configuration to meet design requirements, interact with external & internal customers & partners to define optimal aerodynamic configuration
–
Improve the efficiency of our numerical optimization algorithm by tuning input parameters
–
Estimate wind-tunnel model loads estimation, prepare and participate in various tests, document the wind-tunnel results
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate,
–
You have a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Engineering with specialization in CFD
–
You have minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in aerodynamic development and CFD applications
–
You have knowledge of compressible Navier-Stokes methods, external transonic aerodynamics, applied aerodynamics in the area of stability, control and aerodynamic loads calculations
–
You have knowledge of multi-disciplinary design analysis/optimization
–
You have knowledge of mesh generation tools (Pointwise) and CAD (preferably CATIA v5)
–
You have knowledge of UNIX and High Performance Computing best practices
–
You have some programming skills (C/C++, Fortran, shell/Python scripts)
–
You have good written and verbal communication skills
–
You are eligible to work on International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) projects
–
You willing to travel for short term assignments
