In addition, the incumbent supervises a team of Senior Analysts. The role is accountable for seeking cost recovery opportunities, controlling payables, and meeting key business metrics. The position, which is an integral part of the Bill-to-Cash process, reviews dispute analysis and recommendations to resolve underlying issues and ensures prompt collections. Additional tasks include reviewing the adequacy of controls in place, overseeing audits on key agreements, and introducing new controls to further protect CN’s recoveries. Furthermore, the incumbent drives change by identifying and implementing system enhancements and process improvements to the Joint Facilities team. Main ResponsibilitiesStaff Management, Analysis and Reporting Set objectives as well as manage priorities and workload for Senior Analysts, and drive results for optimal operational efficiencies Coach and mentor team members Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for team members as well as to various stakeholders and field users Ensure that billing processing is accurate, timely, complete, and supported by appropriate business metrics Collaborate with partners to review payables validity and obtain payment approval from Senior Management Support the monthly accrual process for all receivable and payable agreements and act as primary contact for all accrual matters Ensure proper agreements are in place for recoverable billing and provide guidance on agreement interpretation to team members Establish and maintain relationships, and collaborate with all internal and external partners (such as Legal, Contract Administration, Business Development, Financial Planning, I&T, Accounting Development, Operations, Collections and Marketing as well as other roads and short lines). Lead the annual budget review in collaboration with various stakeholders Review billing dispute analyses performed by the team as well as recommendations provided to resolve underlying issues ensuring prompt collections Prepare Joint Facilities regulatory reports Financial Controls and Audits Review the adequacy of controls in place and assess appropriate levels of controls required to support the team’s operations Implement additional controls accordingly to further protect CN’s recoveries Investigate control deficiencies, determine financial impacts, and work with I&T to strengthen controls in place based on findings and business requirements Set audit objectives and oversee agreement audits performed by the team based on annual targets Process Improvement and Special Projects Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities Lead all testing efforts following system changes to ensure accurate and complete business requirement coverage Assist with additional analysis and support for special initiatives and projects Working Conditions The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress.
