Take a look at our corporate video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEGifA8g6S0&t=0s PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR-MACHINE SHOP Responsibilities Supervise and lead a team of machinists Delegate daily individual tasks to each team member and follow-up until completed Responsible for the on-time completion of parts within specs Estimate the time to complete tasks by team members and advise on production scheduling Identify obsolete parts and advise the Production Planner and Purchasing to correct the database Perform training and set an example to new employees Participate in weekly work review meetings with the Instrument Manufacturing Manager Report all team and production issues to the Manager (work performance, quality etc.) Operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers) and manual machines as required Complete Job Material Pick List Reports and other production documents as required Propose improvements in product reliability, manufacturing efficiency and quality Other tasks as required Essential Skills and Knowledge A diploma in CNC Machinist and 5 years or more of work experience is required Knowledge and experience in the use of AutoCAD and MS Office suite Demonstrated team leading / team management skills Familiar with Hurco and Hass machinery Familiar with production process and associated documentation Understanding of best practices and product quality objectives Ability to find solutions to functional problems Manual dexterity is very important Fluency with both Imperial and Metric measurements systems Attention to detail, good organizational skills Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment Very good knowledge of English and French is required SCP SCIENCE offers a competitive compensation package and a clean working environment.
